Narguess & Vahid

An elegant Traditional Persian wedding with a modern American touch

Although Narguess and Vahid had lived only 5 miles apart for the past 10 years and shared countless mutual friends, they had never crossed paths or heard of one another. That is, until a beautiful sunny Sunday morning in March at one of their local Starbucks shops in Calabasas, California!  Head over heels for one another, the couple got engaged a few months later and started planning their unforgettable wedding.

Having dreamed of a wedding at the stunning Taglyan Complex, Narguess and Vahid booked the location for their Summer nuptials. Sharing a Persian background, as well as, an American upbringing, the couple opted for a traditional Persian wedding with lots of modern American influences.

The wedding ceremony began with the bridal party dancing their way down the aisle, while Narguess, dressed in her custom designed wedding gown, was elegantly escorted by her loving parents. A gorgeous Sofreh Aghd was the focal point of the ceremony, with creatively designed cards for each guest, explaining the meaning and significance of the Sofreh and each of its unique items.

The cocktail hour was held in the lush gardens at the Taglyan Complex, which included an amazing champagne tower, tray passed hordevours and a live saxophone player.  The reception to follow was nothing short of magical!  The venue was decorated with white flowers and draping orchids with hints of blush tones. Mirrored tables, gold accents and a seamless white dance floor completed the look of this elegant affair.

With more than 400 of their closest family and friends, Narguess and Vahid celebrated all night into the early hours of morning. (hey- it IS a Persian wedding, after all!)  We wish this fabulous couple a lifetime of happiness.

Congrats, Narguess and Vahid!

Narguess and Vahid's Do's & Don'ts:

  • DO have a wedding planner that you absolutely love and are confident can execute your vision! We loved ours and it made all the difference.
  • DO have an amazing photo & video team and make sure they are pleasant to be around!  The crew will be with you all day, and you should make sure your personalities mesh.
  • DO have your hair and makeup team come to the hotel. It really cuts down on travel time, and more importantly the stress.
  • DON'T underestimate the importance of good food. Ours was so delicious that all the guests were talking about it!
  • DON'T stress the little stuff; let your coordinator handle it.
